The mother usually works as a housemaid, earning around 5,000–6,000 Rs per house, but she’s currently pregnant and not working. With a new baby on the way and rising inflation, the family is facing increasing financial pressure.
Despite the challenges, the children remain eager to learn:

Zimel, also in Class 2, is 10 years old and passionate about Math. She dreams of becoming a teacher.

After their father passed away, Hooriah and Jawairiah moved with their mother from Badin to Karachi. Although they were promised an inheritance, the daughters were told they wouldn’t receive their share until they turn 18 — leaving their mother with nothing. The family now lives in a rented home, paying 17,000 Rs per month. Their mother works as a tailor, but a recent illness (chikungunya) has made it difficult for her to sit and work for long periods.
Despite these hardships, both daughters remain determined to succeed:
Hooriah is in Class 11 and teaches the Quran to local children to help support the family. She’s studying Pre-Medical and hopes to pursue a career in Psychology.
Jawairiah is in Class 8 and dreams of becoming a Chartered Accountant.

The family's expenses have risen sharply due to inflation. With three children and a sister not in school, they also support their grandparents, adding to the burden. Their rent is 12,000 Rs, and the father, the sole earner, makes 50,000 Rs per month. Groceries alone cost 20,000 Rs, leaving little room for education. They’re often forced to choose between basic needs and schooling.
Uzair is in Class 9. He enjoys Computer and Math and hopes to become a mechanical engineer.
Nawaf is 12 years old, in Class 6, and also dreams of becoming an engineer. He loves Math.
Salar is 8 years old and in Class 2. He wants to become a policeman and enjoys playing with his friends at school.
